There are 3 configurable components to our referral programs. A combination of these 3 components determine how the referral program is structured and the overall user experience for program participants. The 3 components are as follows:

  • Access to Referral Program: This is landing page where Referrers can get more information about the referral program, sign up, or log in to send referrals. This can also be the same page where Referees visit to initiate a verbal referral. This landing page can be hosted by RewardStream or hosted on your own website.
  • Program Credentials: These are the credentials that Referrers use to create and log in to a referral program profile. At minimum, this consists of an email address, unique identifier (listed above), and a method of authentication (e.g. password). Credentials can be managed by RewardStream through email/password, Facebook Login, or Google Login. Credentials can also be the same as your website using our Single Sign-On functionality.
  • Sending Referrals: This is the location where Referrers can send referrals. This can either be RewardStream’s default referral dashboard page or a series of widgets that can be embedded on your web page and/or opened in a new browser window.

The 3 configurations and customer experience are as follows:

1. RewardStream Hosted + RewardStream Credentials + RewardStream Referral Dashboard:

  • RewardStream hosts the landing page where customers access the referral program
  • RewardStream manages the user authentication (email/password, Facebook Login, Google Login)
  • RewardStream hosts a standard referral dashboard page where Referrers are directed to after login to send referrals and check referral history.

2. Client Hosted + Single Sign-On Credentials + RewardStream Referral Dashboard

  • You host the landing page where customers access the referral program.
  • You manage the user authentication using your existing customer credentials and use RewardStream’s Single Sign-On API to allow your customers to access the referral program
  • RewardStream hosts a standard referral dashboard page where Referrers are directed to after login to send referrals and check referral history. Referrers can access the full referral dashboard in the same browser page session, a new window, or a new tab.

3. Client Hosted + Single Sign-On Credentials + Referral Widgets

  • You host the landing page where customers access the referral program.
  • You manage the user authentication using your existing customer credentials and use RewardStream’s Single Sign-On API to allow your customers to access the referral program
  • You host a custom referral dashboard page consisting of widgets where Referrers are directed to after login to send referrals and check referral history. The Referrer can access the referral dashboard on your hosted page either through embedded widgets and/or buttons (links) that open a modal window, new tab, or browser window.
